Uterine Balloon

One of our more unique medical development projects was a device for Gynacare that thermally treated menorrhagia in women. The device had a reservoir of water that was pumped into a catheter balloon and thereby heated to a precise temperature, in order to aid in the healing process. Our role, here at Fusion Design, was to optimize the heating system within this device through the use of computational fluid dynamics, or CFD.
